Pro-Fex II Problem!!! Mike Brown maybe?

Post by Bobby Bowman »

While setting up for the Saturday night gig, a big plastic cup of ice and water got knocked over on my effects rack. I've let it all dry out and everything is working except my Pro-Fex II. It comes on, but a message keeps flashing on about every minute that says: DSP INTERFACE ERROR (resetting system). Anybody got any ideas what needs to be done. I can't get any of the control buttons or knobs to do anything and no sound/signal will pass through it to my amplifier.
Thanks,
BB

Try to reset it to factory default. You will loose your settings, but can load them from a card or another Profex or Bassfex (via a 5 pin midi-cable). You just hold the global and play buttons while powering up.

Thanks Ken. It worked and you're right, I lost everything except all that factory mess. I'll try to locate a friend here in Houston that has a card or maybe find someone when I'm at the TSGA convention in early March.
Thanks again my friend.

Sorry that I couldn't respond soon enough, but thanks to Ken for his assistance. However, I haven't known a Profex II to automatically "correct" itself just by reinitalizing. But, as long as the liquid that was spilled wasn't a carbonated drink, you might not have further problems. Just beware that a problem could resurface.

Thanks Ken and Mike. I took it over to Billy Phelps and he got it straightened out for me.
