Mesa Boogie Studio Caliber Amp

Could anyone advise me on the value of a Mea Boogie Studio Caliber Amp. It has (1) 12" vintage housed in a cabinet of about 18" or 20" tall and ame wide. It sounds great with that warm tube amp sound. As new condition

The Studio Caliber is the little brother to the Dual Caliber series and this whole line is one of the best of Mesa's offerings. There are two independent channels, each with reverb and presence controls in addition to volume, treble, mid, bass and master. The Studio Caliber does not have the graphic EQ found on all the other DC series. It's a low power amp with two EL84's putting out about 22 watts. The pre-amp circuits are where these amps shine. According to Mesa literature, the clean channel is from the Mark IV and the lead channel is from the Dual Rectifier. I use a DC-5 (two 6L6 at 50 watts) as my main stage amp for lead guitar and it's super. The line also features effects loop, slave out and recording out with 'speaker off' switch.

The market price for a Studio Caliber in clean condition with footswitch and cover is about $400.

Thanks for your respected input, I am looking at one that a friend of mine has. As I said it is in as new condition, but he wants more than what you mentioned and I suspected he was a little high, now I know.

I used to play through a "Studio 22", which is an earlier version with a similar power section. I found 22 watts to be a bit weak for most gigs that included a drummer, but it was fine for "lounge" gigs and rehearsals. Nice tone.

Now I use a Mesa/Boogie Maverick (prototype), which has twice the power, for small gigs. Much better - things have to get really loud before I start to feel the squeeze.
