PA System?

Post by Joey Gaskins »

While in a pratice session today I blew a fuse on my amp and having only brought just the steel and amp along I plugged into a 100 watt pa system. I was amazed at the sound. I don't know how well it would carry in a larger area but in a small one it was sounding mighty fine. Anyone had to use a pa before?

I would almost rather go though a PA then a amp, got more room for effects delays compressors and so on and if your playing with a lead man you can also pan better for a nice clean sound, at my place i like for the musicans to face there amps towards them and let me run them though the board, but you get more people yelling about it then not, they seem to think that the people came to listen to them only. Try going from a preamp into a powered Mackie monitor. The sound is huge.

I use the "Peavey" P.A. mixerboard and a "CS800" poweramp quite often when we are just jamming. Works really great !!

Bill'
You oughta switch to a Fender Twin Reverb. You'd really like it better than using a PA.

A Fender Twin is what I blew the fuse on. Original 1972 model. PA was just there and available.
