Drum Click Track

Post by George Kimery »

Is there a cheap way of putting a click (metronone) sound into a drummers headphone for keeping time in recording? A drum machine would work, but is there just a small device made that just does the click?

Don't think I'm being sarcastic, but the obvious thing to give a metronome click is a metronome. Electronic ones are cheap and usually have a headphone output.
If you are working in a midi equipped studio, the computer sequencer can send a click out on the foldback channel.
Cheers

Thanks Dave. I didn't know they even made electronic metronomes. I will check one out at Guitar Center. It is for a Christmas gift for a 17 year old nephew, wanna be, studio drummer.

If he's close to a computer, and has a program that does MIDI, that would be ideal. You can set any tempo and click track you want.
