BIAB compatibility with Macintosh

Post by George Kimery »

Is anybody up to speed on what the latest version of BIAB is available for a Macintosh? I have heard that BIAB does not support Macintosh computers very well by not making current versions available in a Mac format and that the only thing they have for a Mac is old, outdated versions. I am interested in a BIAB for my Imac if I can do Ray Price shuffles on it without having to jump through too many hoops.

George,
They have their latest version available for the MAC. I'm not a MAC user, so don't ask for any details, please Image but have a look at their web-site http://www.pgmusic.com and also at their online Forum http://www.pgmusic.com/ubb/ where you'll find all sorts of information !

Ole

P.S: : I have their latest version 12 for the PC and I absolutely love it, so if you have any general questions, feel free to ask - here or by e-mail !

Thanks, Ole and a question for your or somebody: I went to the website and they have a Pro-Version 11 for $88.00 and a Mega Pak Version 11 for $249.0. So, will the $88.00 version do a Ray Price shuffle, or would I have to fork over the $249.00 to get it and other usable country and gospel stuff? I really don't want to waste a lot of time doing edits or something to get the Price shuffle, so hopefully, there is a style # available that is already preset in the shuffle style.

I have version 8 and haven't got the 11 upgrade yet, but it works fine on Mac. It should tell you which Style disks actually come with both. You'll just have to go around to the needed web pages to find the info for each included style. The Mega pack includes a lot of styles, many of which you probably wouldn't use. It might be better for you to get the regular version and, if what you want is not there, buy the Style disk or disks that fit your exact needs.

George,

Michael is right on the money ! There are a number of styles included, but they might not fit your needs exactly. Try and go to the web site, look through their description of the styles disks and listen to the demo songs they have listed for every style. Pay special attention to disks # 15 and 26 - they are dedicated country styles, and I know that there's a Ray Price-like style on disk 26. I don't own that one, but have a go at the demo song for the style c~leroyv.sty - it's listed as a Ray Price shuffle style !

Russ:

Thanks for the Big Jim contact. I read about him in a post many months back but didn't know how to get in touch with him. I had read that he is great if you need a little coaching to get up an running. Another question: I have a computer and a CD burner. Is this all the hardware I need for BIAB?
