Hey Guys, I have two 15" Crate Speakers,I plug them in and they don't work, They look good,
? can i work on them my self to help save me some money, Can i get a book to show me how to work them, or is there a place on line that can show how to work on them also. Image

Chances are (if you know your speaker
wires are OK) that the voice coils are
open within the speaker. Each one would
have to be completely taken apart to change
that coil & totally reconed after that.

If you could get the parts, the process would be:
1. Tear out the old cone and clean metal parts of all glue.
2. Install the new cone, which includes lining up the voice coil, clueing down the spider and glueing down the cone edge.
3. Solder the wires to the terminals.
4. Glue down the dust cover.
And you're done.
For most people, it's more cost effective to have a place recone the speakers.
