I just got an old Session 400. The back of the amp has a footswitch input for tremolo and an input saying "Booster". What is the feature of the booster?

The booster "output" can be used to send a signal to a mixing console or for recording. This is not a speaker output nor an input, but more like a PRE AMP OUTPUT that you find on many later Peavey amplifiers.
