Profex2 ? for Mike Brown
Mike,
I have a profex 2 and was wondering if a headphone jack and level control can be added. A friend has a profex and his has this feature. Can it be done at the factory or from a tech here in Nashville? Thanks.

Mike, I sometimes run the Profex into a cheap Radio mixer, which has both a headphone jack and level control. Lots of these are on Ebay, cheap.
I just looked on Ebay and found a couple like the one I use:

Let me say why I want to do this.
I only use the profex2 for direct recording and some of the studios I work at go into a fit when a more-me is used, so I want the jack w/level control on the profex2 so I can use the small earbud phones then put my other phones on over them then I'll have a more-me without the sideeffects.

Mike, a modification such as yours might cause unforseen problems such as ground hums, etc.. The Profex II and original Profex were designed by two different engineers, so comparing the two might be a bit difficult. I recommend that you consider the Peavey HB-1 headphone booster amp. This
device would do exactly what you have described. I'll e-mail the opeating guide to you as it is not online at this time.
Let me know if you have questions about it. I can be reached toll free at 1-877-732-8391.

I agree on the HB-1. This unit also works in the effects send of an amp to add headphone capability but retain the preamp.
