Anyone ever use a Yamaha DG Stomp effects preamp with PSG?
A friend who is a 6-string picker-- thought it would make a nice practice rig in that I could connect my stereo, steel and headphones through it. Say's it has some real nice reverb (spring simulator) and delay... and can be found at under $150 these days.
He's even used it without an amp... directly to a PA. I guess there would be reasons not to do that with steel, but I don't get out much so I'm not well versed there.

I'd check out the AG STOMP instead.
It has a factory pedal steel patch!
My experience is that guitar oriented effects tend to have fewer clean options than I prefer for steel. Not to say the AG STOMP is perfect for steel - but closer I think. Less distortion patches and more time delay effects (chorus, reverb ,etc.)
