JBL Speaker Question
Recently while playing a late 70's webb amp on the job the speaker shorted out ,causing problems to the amp.I beleive there's been talk of this on here before ,but I couldn't find a direct answer.Someone ask me if I had a fuse between the amp and speaker witch I don't.The speaker was a K-130 4 ohm.My question is should I be installing a fuse to the speaker on all of my older shobud and fender amps as well to prevent this from happening if something happens to the speaker on them? How should I go about this with what amp fuse? Thanks George

Most amps don't have a fuse in the speaker line. The problem of shorted speakers doesn't happen often enough to make them add a fuse (which might not protect the amp, anyway). Some amps have some protection circuitry built into the power amp, but this doesn't always work, either!
