Has anyone tried one of these? I know some of the studios are going back to amps but the studios I work at are still direct.

I have two of them and like them a lot. If you are going to record direct, I think this is about as good as you are going to get. As you probably know, the idea is to use your amp, but just unplug the speaker. The ADA has different speaker/cabinet sounds, although they don't have a 15" speaker sound like we are used to, the 12" sounds are pretty darn good. I think you would be very happy with one of these units. I bought one after talking to either Tommy White or Randy Beavers (I forgot which one) in Nashville. That is what they used for recording and they turned me on to them.

Thanks George,I should have mentioned that I
bought one a few months back but I hadn't put it in my rack yet but,it's going in now.
I thought my tone problem was the pickup but,
when I eliminated one piece of equipment and
just used my Evans preamp,Lex. MPX 100 and
micro-cab the tone was there. I'm using the open back vintage2x12, sweet.
