710 or 910 or 108n

I know this has been brought up before, but I've searched topics and can't really find answer that I am looking for. Is the 710 hotter than 910 or just brighter. How does the 910 compare to the emmons 108n. I know everyone says that 910 are more mellow. I do not use a matchbox or anything like that. My pedal is a goodrich 120 standard passive pedal, and I use a profex II and 2 12" black widow cabinets. Which do you think would best fit my needs? Any help would be appreciated.

Curious myself. Just bought an LeGrande II with the 108 and wondered if this was the best humbucker for my Emmons. Seems to be missing the bite/highs I had with my single coil. I'm not sure if I should swap out the pickup or just let my ear get used to it.

Let's see what develops here.

I have the 108n on my E9, it just seems like I can't get the right midrange, the single coil I had in it sounded good, but I can't stand the hum, and hum filters changes the tone. I listened to the sound samples on Carters website and I liked the 710, of course that was on a Carter.

I have a friend with a Legrand II with 710's. Sounds great. They have plenty of bite and edge. The 910 is a softer edge pick-up.

I agree completely and my experience is the same. I have to turn up the presence on my amp so far it adds a bit too much hiss.

I, also, am interested in trying the Bill Lawrence 710. But, before I spend the bucks, I'd like to get additional opinions.

Tony,

I just finished trying a 710 in my Legrande and I removed it. It is way to tinny sounding for me. It might would have sounded better on a Push pull than my Legrande, but I don't have PP to try it on and find out.

I am going to re-install either the 108's that I have or a set of single coils.

We've been hearing lately that the 710 might be a little thin for the LeGrande II. Others, in the past, have noted that the 710 and the LeGrande II are a great match.

I'm just looking for a little more bite and high end definition while maintaining the quietness of the humbucker.
