Since this is still a fairly new pickup and many folks have not yet tried it, we'd suggest asking Al Brisco <FONT SIZE=-1>(email: steelcan@steelguitarcanada.com )</FONT> this as he has tried them and has them on his new Carter.
Also, here's a post about sound samples, including the Lawrence XR16-10 and XR16-12 pickups: <FONT SIZE=-2>http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum5/HTML/004064.html</FONT>
Hope that helps!

I just put a xr 16 in my Carter & its seems to have a little more ballsy tone than my e66 had. They say its (all in the hands) so I guess this p/u is good for my hands too because it sure makes my steel sound better!!!
ps. I really like my Carter!!
