It and the Peavey counterpart both replace the analog OP amps with a low noise, better quality unit. It an easy kit, just unplug the chips and plug in the new ones. For my money, try the Peavey kit. Get in touch with Mike Brown, he'll get you a kit. The kit also comes with a complete schematic and parts list, nice to have! I've tried both and can't tell any difference between the two.
[This message was edited by Ken Fox on 28 April 2002 at 06:37 PM.]

Ken:
I doubt if LeMay makes a mod kit for the ProFex II. It requires a different chip and I think that is unique to Peavey.

The Peavey Profex II mod kit consists of IC chips that are quieter than what we used when the Profex II was originally designed in the early '90's. As with any third party mod kit, the only improvement that can be made without reprogramming the ROM(read only memory) is to choose a quieter IC chip. Since we buy the best parts in bulk quantities to use throughout our product line, we can turn around and offer these kits at the lowest prices.

I have e-mailed Steven with the kit price and will be glad to assist any player should they have a question about Peavey steel amp mod kits.

I can be reached toll free at 1-877-732-8391.
