Evans amps

Post by Tim McCutchen »

I recently purchased a new Evans amp (250 watt). I am interested to see how you guys run the settings on your Evans amp. Thanks for the help.

Tim - Here are the settings I use with my Mullen:

Bass 8.5
Body 7
Treble 1.5
Expand ON
Depth OFF
Reverb 2

These settings work well in most rooms. Sometimes I have to adjust the Body control to fit the room. I usually add a bit of delay with a stomp box.

Hope this helps.

Tim, my setting for Sho-Bud Professional:
Reverb 3 (I have a long tank spring reverb)
Bass 7
Body 4
Treb 4

Expand On
Depth On when playing solo, Off with band.

And I use a 1501 black widow

Lee your setting`s are very similer to Jr Knight`s Evan`s setting`s, although these day`s he`s using a stereo set up with a pro-fex and Peavey DPC power and BW speaker`s. The point is I thought that was strange setting`s, like what them Seattle Grunge guitar player`s get, but for him he get`s a clean wonderful tone, as a hole I usually recomend cut mid`s back a bit, say 10 o`clock, add treble and bass to taste, generally, 1 oclock on both or more then try the depth and, oe expand and see what happen`s. Mr. Buffington recomend`s putting body [mid`s] on 5 and start on bass and treble at zero and then turn them up until you get the tone you like.
There is not one way to skin the cat but one thing for shure is the Evan`s amp is a tone Monster, very few, can`t get a killer tone out of that baby.
