Post by David Mullis »

Has anyone tried this mod? If so, how big of a difference did it make?

Thanks

I installed the mods in both of my 70s model 400s. It quieted the amp. Boosted the low end slightly and in general, cleaned up the tone. It scooped the mud out and seperated the notes. It's an inexpensive investment to revitalize the old amps.

I A/B'd both(Peavey and LeMay)the Session 400 Limited mod kits before we released our version and there is no audible difference. The BIG difference is the price of the kits. Both kits consist of similar component values. After all, we are talking about resistors, capacitors, etc., which we purchase in quantities to receive better pricing in the manufacturing of our products.

Check out our kits on the Peavey website at;http://www.peavey.com/guitaramps/steelguitars.html

If I can answer your questions concerning our kits, feel free to contact me at 1-877-732-8391.
