New Peavey Transtube 112EFX

Post by Mike Brown »

Occasionally, I am asked about "non" Peavey steel amps and what they sound like for steel guitar. So, when we design a new six string guitar amplifier, I immediately obtain one to try out.

I have found the new Peavey Transtube 112EFX to sound really good for a small home rehearsal amp. For those of you who play to tapes/CD's or use it in a quite setting like a church or you're an entry level player, this amp will work well for you. Here is a link so that you may check out the features. It even has built in digital effects. I have been using one in a small room for our band rehearsals and it sounds pretty good. http://www.peavey.com/events/transtube112efx.html

Mike. I agree with you on this. This is a really good sounding amp, and it has a lot of nice features. I really like the built in effects. That's a real plus!

Mike, looks like a cool amp. Bandit 112 has been somewhat popular as a small venue amp for steel. Aside from effects, how would you compare these two amps. 35 watts make a big differance? Also, could you please email me the price too, thanks, SW

Although both the Transtube 112EFX and Transtube Bandit II have basically the same voicing, I preferred the Transtube 112EFX. Maybe it was the effects(and I'm not really a big effects user) but the Transtube 112EFX sounded good with or without the effects turned on.

Try it out if you get a chance.
