PV DPC Fan ??

Post by Lyle Bradford »

Is there a replacement fan for the DPC power amps that is not as noisy as the ones in them?

Hello Lyle,
Since the DPC amps are very high powered amplifiers, which means that a lot of heat is generated in a small single rack space. In order to properly cool the electronic components inside the chassis, it will take a high speed fan. We have not attempted to outsource another type of fan as the existing type works well for the application.

I would take caution in selecting a slower fan(which means less heat is exiting the unit) because the amp could possibly shut down as it is thermally protected so that it won't burn up. Hope that this helps.
