Midifile drums?

Post by Tony Harris »

I use an old hardware sequencer(Roland MC50)for my drumtracks, playing the(good)sounds in my Alesis D4. But writing the drumtracks bit by bit is laborious - anyone got any full songs (country/rock/jazz standards)as midifiles on floppy disc that I could buy? I'd only use drums and piano as I'd play everything else live. Is it ever possible to get these to sound real enough to use for pro recordings - I notice that all the big country stars still use a real drummer in the studio even if the drum patterns are simple enough to program?

Soundtrek makes a program, The Jammer, that is similar to BIAB and has good drum tracks. I undrstand that some of the Forumites use the Jammer for their drum parts and BIAB for the rest.
