Anyone using the Korg GT-12?
My old AT-12 died, so I picked up a GT-12 to try. This one does not have the hertz scale so I was planning to tune by ear then write down the settings. I tried the Cents tuning chart in the "Anthology of the Pedal Steel" book, but it didn't work for me.

Does that tuner have a cents scale?? If it does, 1Hz=4cents (a close enough figure) and you can convert your old Hz tuning chart to cents.
e.g. -.5Hz = -2cents, -3.5Hz= -14Hz, etc.
My Peavey Trantube Fex has a built in Cents chromatic tuner. The 1 to 4 ratio works well in tuning my guitar.
[This message was edited by Jack Stoner on 22 November 2001 at 07:30 AM.]

I use the KORG AT-120. It is automatic and tells you the note and octave whitch makes it a breeze to set your pedals and levers and to change a string in the middle of a set. It also has the largest meter that I have seen (good for us old geesers)
and a switch to for hertz/cents. It has an automatic shut off in case you forget, and also shuts off when you fold the meter down to close it. I used a WT-10 for twenty years and I like this better than any one that I have seen.It is about the size of a WALKMAN CD player. I paid $220 for mine.

Hi Jack, yes this tuner does have a cents scale. I'll give the conversion a try. It seems that most of the tuners out there use cents instead of hertz. I wonder why? Larry, I saw the AT-120 on Tom Bradshaws site and really liked the look of it. If I can't get use to the cents thing, that's probably what I'll end up with. Thanks for the info guys!
