I have been having problems with this tuner in that it will not register when the string in struck while in the "cent" mode...or any other for that matter. The only thing that it does is jump between a "B" and "A#". One day it just decided to stop working. I've gone through the owners manual to try and find an answer but no luck. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience. Thanks for any help.........Jon

Jon.....
It sounds like you have an input problem....
I would suspect the input jack or a bad solder pad. The fact that it jumps beween the two notes suggest that the osc circuits and display circuits are workin' O. K.
The internal workins' of that tuner is really not all that bad, you would be suprised at just how simple it is. If you open it up,do NOT turn any trimmers or pot adjustments. Just look for broken wires or copper runs, solder joints and such.
There is two inputs on the tuner,(one on the front, one on the back) try both of them,if one works, but not the other, then your problem is a jack or bad copper run. Please note that there is also a button on the front that allows you to switch between the two inputs. And there is a "Mute" button too. In either case, the display will flash between different notes.
( I should add that I am an Electronics Tech so I may over simplify this device.)
[This message was edited by Bill Crook on 04 November 2001 at 04:13 AM.]
