Unplug everything from the amp and then turn it on. Does it still buzz??

It if doesn't then it could be the Sho-Bud, if it still has the single coil pickups in it. That is one of the reasons people change over to humbucking pickups.

I have a Peavey 1000. It is one of the quietest amps I have, so they are not all noisy. I also have single coil pickups on my guitar. It must be something in your equipment, unless it does it without anything plugged in. Do you have something electrical setting on top of your amp? This will induce hum. My 2000 is a little noisy though, in some of the programs.

I would suspect a bad cord, or maybe a lamp dimmer of creating all that "buzzzzzzzzzzzz".

Iv'e sold over a hundred forty 1000 amps, none have ever hummed or hissed unless that was the signal I put into it. You do have a warrenty,I'm sure,If I sold it to you I'll replace it and worry about the problem myself.Peavey forever!!

Bobbe.....Thank's for the GOOD DEAL you gave me Friday the 13th,(which ain't necessarily an unlucky day), on those 2 Peavey 1000's. I have had a chance to try out both Amps and they are the BEST sounding for my Emmons LeGrande III,(which I also bought from you in '98) of any Amp I have ever used, and I have been using Evans Amps, which are great amps, for the past 12 years. You are right about getting the settings right for the PV 1000's, or any amp for that matter. I have single coil pick-ups on my guitar and the PV 1000 is as quiet as any Amp I have ever had.
I believe the larger cabinet, vs the LTD, gives the PV 1000 that Session 500 sound. I may quit using my RV-3 with this Amp....sound's good with just the Guitar and Amp to me. It was good visiting with you again Bobbe. If any you guys want a good guy to deal with, on a Steel Guitar or Ampilifer/accessories.....better check with Bobbe before you buy. Image

Thanks for your kind comments and support of the Nashville 1000. I haven't encountered a steeler that has been displeased in any way with the tone and power of this amp. We feel that it is the best sounding amp for steel guitar and fiddle to date...............and we intend to top this effort in the future as technology advances.

Our objective is to bring the most innovative and "up to date" products to the consumer at reasonable prices. Our competition has a tendancy to forget that the paying consumer demands high quality products with features that the "weekend" musician, as well as the "pro" musicians can use. We are meeting this demand.

If you have questions or comments, please feel free to post them on our website or call me toll free in the U.S. at 1-877-732-8391.

This may be completely off-base, but was true for a Peavy LTD 400 I just acquired -- if the wires to/from your reverb tank are accidentally reversed, you will get a pretty annoying noise like the one you describe. It's an easy remedy to try.

This may be obvious but my computer is in the same room with all my guitars and there's always buzzing when the monitor is on and none when it's off.

D. Schubert is correct about the reverb harness cables being reversed. There will be noise problems.

I would like to reinforce what Roger stated about Bobbe. If you need help go to him for your guitars. He can also help with amps and he'll stand behind what he does. Also, if it's a Peavey, Mike Brown is the man. Mike has helped me many times lately and he never seems to tire of it.
