You could try running the PREAMP OUT to a stereo system or a boom box and plug the headphones into that.

You could get a headphone amp and plug it into the preamp out or maybe the patch out (then you could turn the master volume down). If you go off the pre out you can stick a plug into the power amp in to cut off the sound from the amp.

Hi Dave,

I'll take a look at the schematic to build one in. What I like with headphones is to take a stereo effects processor output into my mixer and listen in stereo --- its more entertaining with the big sound. Seems like it would be more worthwhile to figure out how to add headphones into a stereo effects unit I guess.

I tried my sons new Crate Amp (a 15 watt solid state amp) which has a headphone out. Sounds really great for practicing my nylon string acoustic . The steel sounds plenty good thru headphones for practice. He paid $60 bucks new for it. You can pick it up with your little finger too.

The Peavey Session 500 came with a jack for headphones. I just copied the same scheme and added it to the 400.....Ed

I could never figure out why they ommitted the headphone jack and the direct out Lo-imp. jack when they built the Nashville. Both are very useful.
