For Mike Brown

Post by jlsmith48 »

I have a 10 year old Session 400 that has developed a loud hum from the low Z output. Any suggestions before I take it in for repair. Thanks in advance.

This could be caused by a difference of chassis ground between the Session 400 and whatever piece of gear that you are interconnecting. If this is the case, I would suggest that you lift the ground wire of the XLR cable that is being used, or find out what pin is ground on that external product(mixer?) and match it to pin one which is ground on the Session.

Has this just "developed" or are you using a different mixer or whatever piece of gear that you are connecting to? If you are using a different mixer, this could have developed when you changed over.
