question for Mike Brown
Mike, I must replace the speaker in my session 400...I am talking to Mrs.Munoz about how to order and pay for the piece..My question to you is : there is no such number as 1501dt-4 on the speaker..there is #16.32A in marker pen and the serial#158326..the magnet is 8 inches across...will the 1501dt-4 basket fit ??? the magnet is held on by three bolts, if that helps any....i had it looked at today and was told that the wire was into somewhere on the cone and that a basket was all i would need....your thoughts please.. thanks tom

The Peavey 1501-4 RB "SB", which stands for shallow basket should be the replacement basket that you should purchase. The U.S. MSRP is $65.00 and can be purchased from your local authorized Peavey dealer or direct from our Parts Department here at Peavey. If you wish for our service techs to install the basket for you, we would be glad to do so. You may send your complete speaker to our service department address listed below;
Peavey Service Center
Hwy. 80 East
Meridian, MS 39301
If your '70's Session 400 has the "flat" Peavey Spider magnet structure, the 1501-4RB SB probably will not fit due to an improvement in the design of the magnet which increased its power handling. This is why I suggest that you send the complete speaker to us.
If you should have questions, feel free to contact me toll free in the U.S. at 1-877-732-8391.
