Dd-3

Post by Bill Crook »

On the DD-3 :
Does anyone know what the "Direct out" jack is used for ??

Image

The dog ate the little manual for this device and I dont know how to use this jack.

1) Is it safe to plug this output directly into low level input jack of an amp ?

2) What is the output level of this jack ?

3) Is this a line out jack ?

4) what would happen if I pluged my PSG into it by mastake ??

I'd expect "Direct Out" to be the dry signal (no effect).

I'm moving this to the Electronics forum, for the benefit of people who use the Search function.

Bobby nailed it. If you want to play through two amps and have a dry signal from one of them, come out of the direct out jack into that amp.

Bill, does the knob on the left control the strength of the output signal? I am certain the output would be a line level signal, as this is a powered device. Can either a instrument level, or line level, signal be plugged into the input? Some of these devices will only take a instrument level signal, and some will take both.

I suspect I'd be safe in saying it is an "instrument" level output. The DD-3, like my DD-5 is designed to be used in either a low level effects loop or between the instrument and amp.
