Acoustic amp head
Any thoughts about or experiences with an Acoustic 150 head with pedal steel? I am looking for a fairly inexpensive head that I can leave at a rehearsal studio and have come across this for under $200 but can't try it out (it's online).

Jon, the Acoustic 150 was made during the early 70's and put out 125 watts @ 4 ohms if my memory serves me correctly. I remember playing electric guitar through one and was not impressed with it's tone. They were fairly reliable but keep in mind it may be difficult to get parts for a 25 year old amp. Also you'll still need a speaker cab to run it through. IMHO keep shopping especially since you can't try it out. Just my 2 cents L. Clark

Yes, Lefty, it is solid state. That's interesting about Jeff Baxter's Vox. I wouldn't have thought of it as a good sounding steel amp.
Larry--that was a good splash of cold water. I was pretty gung-ho on this but with a little dose of reality I'm going to pass on this. If you had said that it was one of the great ones that you wish you hadn't let get away then I'd be jazzed about this but it sounds like you've helped me avoid making a mistake.
'preciate it.
