Ever tired to put a JBL D-130 in a Fender Dual Professional

I'm toying with the idea of getting a FENDER Dual Professional (Custom Shop). I like that built in Reverb with the tone controls. These amps have two 12" speakers.
Has anybody ever tried if a JBL D-130 (15") would fit into those things?

I'd bet you dinner that it would not be difficult, especially if the Celestions are 16 ohm. Whadda gonna do with those speakers?

Well there are two 12" speakers in there, aren't there? So, at 16 Ohm each, I would like to think that they're wired up to 8 Ohm... (?)
If I do it, I'd have to get the amp first and that's why I'm asking around before I buy an amp that I can't do with it what I want... The question simply being; is there enough room for one D-130?
Now, the question about what I'd do with them Celestions... can they be recycled or do I just put them into the regular trash?

I have to think that the DP is the same size as a Twin Reverb, and guys have put 15's in them things. Just grab yer Stanley tape and head to the music store.

The impedence of the Celestions in my Marshalls are 16 ohm, but who knows what Fender installed. The Vintage 30's are a rock & roll speaker and are too weak in the mids for steel guitar, IMO.

If you get this outfit put together, yer gonna have one cool amp.

I don't know about that amp but I had an 18" Altec mounted in my pre-CBS Fender Twin. It fit, but with nothing but air between the head and casters. Weighed a double-ton also. Suprisingly though, it had a beautiful tone including gut-wrenching Boo-Wah lows.

I don't own a Dual Professional, but I've wondered what it would sound like with a JBL 15". The DP's spkr jack is wired for 8 ohms, but changes to 4 ohms when the Ext Spkr jack is -also- used. I put an 8 ohm 15" in my Twin, but changed the output xfmr to the one found in the DP. It goes in with -NO- modifications, has 4, 8, and 16 ohm taps, plus a balanced pair for an XLR output to your mixer. I used the 8 ohm tap for the 15" spkr, and can always put the 2-12" baffle back in and switch the tap. - Neal

You may consider using the Dual Pro in conjuction with a cabinet with a D-130. It would save work converting the Dual, and preserve it's value. The Combination of the 2-12's and 1-15 is a nice setup, or use just the 1-15. Fender makes an external matching cabinet that can be easily converted.
