Amp prices?

I see a great deal of talk about what a used Peavey Nashville and Sessions 400-500 sells for, and I was wondering what they sell for new. Also the Nashville 1000. I can't find a MSRP on the Peavey site.

Lindley, I don't remember the actual retail
prices, but my local Peavey dealer recently
gave me a quote of $485 for a Nashville 400
and $750 for a Nashville 1000.

I believe it was posted to the forum when the 1000's first came out that the list price is $999.99. ($1000 for a 1000?)

From what I could gleem the new Session 2000 list for 1299.00 and the midi controler was 199.00. The 1000 took the place of the Nashville 400 which isn't being made any more. My Nashville 400 still has the price tag on it (its 2 years old) the dealer list was $689.95.

Hi Lindley....
Guess where you shop makes a big difference. In April of '98 I bought a new N-400 for $428.00 including the shipping from a dealer in Southern Oregon. Now that I'd like to get either a 1000 or 2000 I find that he's no longer in business......so I guess he tried to make it on volume and it didn't work. The folks over at the Steel Guitar Swap Shop have had several listings lately anywhere from $275.00 to over $400.00 depending on model and year.

I've visited "Steel Guitar Nashville's" site and they indicate that they're now a Peavey dealer. So maybe we ought to give 'em a call.

I bought my Session 2000 from the good folks at Carter Steels. They are also Peavey dealers. They sent it a lot sooner than they predicted, and E-mailed me the day it would be arriving, so I could be there. I was very well pleased. I couldn't beat their prices on it in Indy. I bought my Nasville 1000 here in Indy at a show special. $700. At this time, I like the 1000 the best. I don't like the hiss and noise on the 2000, but I do like the sounds it will get. I don't believe I could use it to record with however, do to the noise. I haven't tried yet, and I don't know if the noise comes out of the line out or not.

Fred,I used my Nashville 1000 in the studio last week and the engineer had a little noise problem with the amp.He used the conn in the back to go directly to the board.After about 10 minutes of doing this and trying that he finally got ride of it.What a tone!!! Nashville 1000's at Alamo Music in San Antonio TX: $649.00, plus tax. Comes to $699.30 out the door. Pretty good price, I understand.

Sorry man, you and Rick got Mickey Roe'd. The guy at the Babcock store of Alamo quoted me $649 plus tax, which came to $699.30. I talked to him today.

On most major amps (Peavey, Fender, ect.) you can figure a "street" price is 25% off the list price. Some dealers will go 30%, or even 35%, which is even better. But that depends on the area you're in. About the best you'll ever see is 40% off, but that doesn't come around often enough to consider, even at big shows. Discounts vary widely, so it pays to shop around. The internet makes that easy, and b0b's FORUM is a big help too!
