Olli,
I'm really interested in this as well. I'm not a huge fan of Mark, and the tickets for his Copenhagen concert are unbelievably expensive, but IF Paul F. was there, I'd seriously consider it anyway.

He is playing here in Oslo too. My guess is he won't have a steel with him on the tour. But Tom Brumley & Jay DeeManess will be in Scandinavia this summer - not a bad substitute.

I am under the impression, and it's only an impression so I could be totally wrong, but I don't think Paul Franklin ever tours. Does anyone know differently?

Jeff:
The last tour I know of that Paul did was with Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits. I don't know how long the tour was, but it was a while ago. I know that they rehearsed intensively for the tour.

Mark Knopfler just had a dinosaur named after him. It's called "Masiakasaurus knopfleri" - I'm not kidding! Read about it at cnn.com.

Having a dinosaur named after you is an honor. The people at my company named a speed bump in the parking lot after me!

I am thoroughly convinced Mark Knopfler could have a great career in country music if he wanted to. Several country acts have recorded his songs, like Mary Chapin Carpenter, the Judds, John Anderson and Highway 101. He's friends with Chet Atkins and he's had Paul Franklin and Vince Gill on his records. He could excel on several levels, as a songwriter or as a producer, or just his musicianship..... or all three.

But then they would try to turn him into a *POP* star like everyone else in Nashville.
