You use - like this---------- for strings,
numbers like this 1-----
2-----
3-----
to indicate strings and ~~~~~~ (tilde) to indicate sustained and long notes.
You could also copy a previous lick and just make the numbers right for you. To copy, mark the area with your mouse and press ctrl+c (copy) Then go to the reply window and paste it in ctrl+v (paste). Do the changes and post it. You could copy this:

2---------------------------------------------------------
3---------------------------------------------------------
4---------------------------------------------------------
5---------------------------------------------------------
6---------------------------------------------------------
7---------------------------------------------------------
