Interesting that he sticks to the melodies so much of the time when playing classic country, but goes off the hook when playing jazz. I thought the guitar player (Phil Baugh?) provided some very tasteful flash on this one. Maybe Buddy just figured he’d let that settle the issue, which is what great players who are also great band mates do.
