Del Grace, My Musical Journey

Post by Del Ray Grace »

This is my journey. This is my calling. This is Sacred Steel.”
My musical path began long before I ever touched a steel guitar. It started in the classrooms and band rooms of Toledo Public Schools, where simple instruments opened the door to a lifelong calling. My journey has been one of discovery, purpose, and responsibility. Those early years prepared me to become not only a musician, but a historian, culture-bearer, and advocate for a tradition that continues to inspire generations. https://youtu.be/F0a83IPx58Q?si=uy2dCXp9imZTG6uu

Enjoyed that, Del. Gonna have to visit the museum someday. Are you one of those bell-bottom wearing clarinet players in the first picture?

Thank you Bill, close, believe it or not I marched playing the oboe and yes, I'm in the first pic (second from left) wearing a bell bottom jump suit. The band didn't get new uniforms until after I graduated in 1977. Wow, those were some good days in my life.
