Hello!
I was wondering if any of you possibly had some information about this pedal?
It appears to be from sometime between the late 70s-mid 80s, and has a sticker on the back that says the company was called "Megas Engineering", with this Nashville address:
115 Opry Alley, 37219.
This section of Opry Alley is now called "Ryman Alley", and at the time this address would have put the Megas basically in the back of the Sho-Bud shop and right behind the Ryman Auditorium, if I'm not mistaken.
I lived in Nashville for a while, but unfortunately not at this time, so I have zero knowledge of anything that could have been around then.
When I looked up this pedal, I was able to come across an account by another owner who said they were built by Shot Jackson's son (David I'm guessing?).
Well thanks for any help you can give! It's greatly appreciated.
Oh, and inside the pedal, it looks to be a heavily modified Jordan Bosstone possibly, but I can't say 100% quite yet.

Sometimes there are date codes on electrolytic capacitors, and on some brands of potentiometers. Google can help you decode those. Pedals tend to be built somewhere between a few months and a few years after the latest date code you find on a component, assuming nothing's been replaced.

Re: Megafuzz? Possible Sho-Bud connection?
thanks Mike, yeah so unfortunately there are no date codes on the pots. One of the caps has a code that almost certainly means 1983.
The problem is, without having seen any other photos of other pedals, I don't know if that is a replacement, or original.
1983 would make sense, with the rest of the components, but also, it could easily be the mid70s as well, especially for the fact that it uses a BUD box enclosure, which were very popular pedal project boxes (even MXR used them from 1973-1976).
One clue I found yesterday, through google street view, is if you follow it down that alley in Nashville, the back of the old Sho-Bud building, presumably where that Megas address leads too, still has the "Sho-Bud" logo painted on the wall. This is also directly across from the Ryman. So that's pretty cool to see.
