I have a Fender Side Kick Cabinet with a 15-inch Bass Speaker in it--I would like to try a different speaker for a different tone for my Pedal Steel--what is a recommendation for a speaker--JBL, or ???

JBL is the gold standard, but BW, EV and Telonics are also among the most popular with steel pickers

Forum member Jeff Maxwell builds a Hybrid JBL 120, 130 with JBL series baskets on a Black Widow frame. I don't know the cost but it's gotta be a lot less than sourcing an orignal JBL.
