Hollis Calvert R.I.P.

Post by Royace Buehrlen »

I would be remorseful not to share the passing info of one of the great Peavey team members who helped Scotty's Steel Guitar Conventions with the setup and operation of the Peavey stage amps, Peavey monitor system, and Peavey out front sounds, his name is Hollis Calvert. He worked for PV for forty-two years, he was a pleasure to meet and would gladly answer any questions about Peavey equipment that you might have. I searched the forum but did not find anything so thought you all would like to know. He was 84 years old, passed on Aug 11, 2025. I'm sharing a couple of memory PICs, one with an early pic of Hollis demonstrating features on an early PV PA with columns. Scotty sold me our first Peavey PA System similar to this setup with columns around 1968. The 2nd pic has Bobbie Caldwell, Scotty, Hollis Calvery and Fred Pierce on drums. R.I.P. "H.T."

Hollis was great! During my Moe Bandy days we had a Peavey endorsement and he was our go-to guy for all things Peavey. Just recently I got to wondering about him and did some searching and found that he had passed. R.I.P. Hollis….

RIP Hollis Calvert. Class act. Did Hartley Peavey proud. First saw him sometime mid 70s at the ISGC Chase Park Plaza. Represented Peavey well with merchandise and convention sound. Best years of the convention when he was involved.

I agree with Jerry, Hollis was 100% a class act...... not a better representative for Peavey products....my condolences...

Hollis was a great guy. Always answered any questions and talking over any problems I might have had. We talked several times at various shows. We always said Hi. Rest in peace, Hollis… You will be missed…
My best,
Ernie
