Eezee/Basil — are you OK?

Post by Bruce Coffman »

Just a quick check to see if anyone has heard anything from Basil at Eezee Slider? I placed a new bar order back in November ‘25 and the PayPal charge went through but it’s been “crickets” since then. Sent a couple of emails to check-in but no responses thus far.

I certainly hope he and Pat are both OK.

Cheers,
Bruce

I talked with Basil before Christmas and he is no longer making the Ezzee Slide bars. I got one of the last few bars that he made-this one is black and it is an awesome bar. Basil told me that he had been making bars since 2016-he's been making the bars for nine years, and decided to retire. I now have two bars Basil built-the first one is white, and my newest one is black, both Sneaky Pete size bars, and they are the best bars I've ever used.

I purchased one of his awesome bars about a year ago. When I later learned that he planned to cease production, I contacted him to ask whether I could purchase another one as a spare. He confirmed that he would include me in his final production run with tracked and insured shipping. This was early December.

I received and paid a PayPal invoice the following day. Later that day, I received a shipping notification via PayPal, but no tracking information was provided. Shipping to Germany normally takes no longer than two weeks.

In early January, as the item had still not arrived, I asked whether it had been shipped and was advised to be patient due to holiday delays. About a week ago, I requested a tracking ID again but have not received a response. I have since found that the PayPal invoice is no longer accessible and has been withdrawn due to possible fraud. What’s going on?

His website is down which had treasure trove of documents related to the Tavares brothers including detailed notes of their copedants. I copied some, but wish I had copied all.

My friend shipped a package from Vermont to Novia Scotia and was sent Dec. 15 and arrived Jan. 15th. It was pretty beat up. Probably due to the holidays and postal strike in Canada. Unless Basil has other issues, hopefully it'll get to you soon.

My experience has been very similar to Marco’s: placed order 11/24/25, discussed via email that Basil was retiring and that my order would be part of his “last batch”. Received and paid PayPal invoice 11/29/25, also without any tracking info. Since then (and after two emails) I’ve yet to hear anything from Basil. I’m a patient guy and usually quite understanding, but 98€ is 98€ and some communication wouldn’t be inappropriate at this stage.

I’ll check the Fender FB page and see what I can get.
