Sarno V8 direct recording question

Post by Pete Martin »

Just got my V8!

When recording direct, do you suggest plugging in the V8 to another preamp, then into the AD converter box, or going straight into the AD from the V8?

I am recording a 56 Stringmaster non pedal steel and a 5 string electric mandolin with a Lollar Charlie Christian pickup.

Thank you!

Pete

I have a huge selection of pres but most of the time just go right into my interfaces and it sounds great!

The reason I ask is that in the V8 manual it says the output is line level. I always thought a normal recording preamps output is above “line level”.
