opinions from resonator Jedis?
Well, my last couple of choices for guitars fell through for various and sundry reasons.
I was able to get some permission from the minister of finance and increase my budget a little bit, which makes my choices a little bit more interesting. I've also done a LOT more listening and leaning to the sound of a wood body over a metal one.
Due to geographical constraints and tax and tariff issues, a MM guitar isn't in the plans. (The exchange rate is not my friend).
I'm looking at:
Recent Beard Decophonic 47
1930s (my guess) National Trojan
1989 National Jazz Blues.
These are all within a few hundred $ of each other. None of them are close enough to try first, the beard and the style O would be returnable, the jazz blues would not.
I'd love to get some insight on what would be a solid investment in myself. I decided I'm not going the Royall/republic route.
Thanks in advance.

Not that it really matters, but I'm curious how you plan to play this guitar...fingerstyle or bottleneck or perhaps both.
No round neck Jedi here, but I would guess Style 0 would trump the Deco 47 merely because of it's popularity, but I have a squareneck 47 that has really nice bluesy sound played with a bar.
I have no experience with the other choice and really none with the Style 0 except just noodling with a brass body in a music store a time or two.

I should have added my intention is finger style.

I don't see the style 0 on your list but if you can swing that, that's the one for finger style ragtime, or the other metal body National, the Trojans are hit or miss, some just sound kinda dead, most are Harmony built bodies, some are National built with a neck stick.

The Style 0 was marked as a style 0, but its a trojan.
The least expensive is the Decophonic.
The Style 0 is listed at $200 more (but I think I could call and get a better price on either of these, esp the trojan, since its mislabeled and in rougher condition)
The Jazz Blues is about 50 more than the Style 0/Trojan

There's a rough finished one listed as Style 0 in a brown color at GC but it states it's brass. is that the one you saw?

Adam also posted a link to photos of the three instruments in question on a different website.

Based upon those photos, I'd probably consider the National Jazz Blues first.

I'm getting an error code 403 on the Imgur link Brad.
(sorry, good link. My problem was due to my VPN use.)

Sorry, the link is good. It failed due to my VPN choice.
The first photo is the one I saw on GC.

I talked to the minister of finance and aesthetics. We’re going with the jazz blues.
