I picked up an unusual amp to use as a practice amp. It’s a Peavey Transfex 208s. It seems to work but has scratchy pots I will need to clean. Is this effect unit one that I need to worry about a leaky battery on? Any advice on how to get a good steel tone from it?

Re: Peavey Transfex 208s questions
I had one of these amps years ago, it really was an excellent practice amp. Here is a link to the manual, no mention of any battery for the effects. https://assets.peavey.com/literature/manuals/80301026.pdf As far as the sound, I believe that I only used the delay and reverb effect. The manual goes into how to adjust them.
