I have this double neck.
Can anyone tell me about it?

Made by NATIONAL but not branded as such. Made with slight differences from the standard National specifications. PROBABLY to be sold by Montgomery Wards but maybe another retailer. Don't remember for sure without going through papers. Similar to the ones sold by "English Electronics" which was the mail order part of Norman English Studios in Michigan. This probably had the small metal serial number "tag" attached to the back of one of the headstocks.

Thank you, Michael.
Yes it has the number tag!

Back of the c6 neck.
This guitar is so artistic in design, kind of
Art Deco, with seemingly two kinds of mahogony.
The necks are separate dark mahogany and reminiscent of the “ log”
in the middle of a Les Paul.
Glued or bolted to a three piece body of a blond mahogany type looking wood.
It belongs to a friend and I’m just putting on new strings.
I hope it has a sweet sound !

The serial has a letter prefix which is necessary if you want to find out the year it was made.

The parts of the body are bolted together. The whole thing is maple, just with different finishes on different parts.

Not sure if this will help... a friend just acquired a triple Magnatone. There are some similarities to your guitar, but quite a few differences. Here's a photo from last week that might help...

That's an odd one, I'm also in the Valco camp but Magnatone is sure a possibility, they also used the serial number plates, with no letter prefix like a Valco.

Top one is Mag, bottom is Valco

Magnatone is not a possibility. There is no question that Charley's steel was built by Valco.

I used to have an English Electronics (Valco) steel that had the same shape, but in different colors. The fingerboard was the totem pole pattern, translucent and gold. I sold it here on the SGF maybe 10-15 years ago.
