Mullen G2 pedal rod falling out of hole tricks?

Has anyone come up with any hardware tricks to keep your pedal rod inside the hole of the pull/changer? If you don't touch the pedal or keep downward pressure, it's just fine; however, if you bump it and/or cause slight lift of the pedal, the rod will easily disconnect and fall out of the hole.

There are no pin slots on the curved portion of the rod to secure it on the backside of the hole, so has anyone come up with some stops or external slip-over style mechanisms to secure the rods in place?

The pedal rods go the other way around, against the apron with the open end of the hook facing the rear.

Ahhh... I'll give that a try. I'm still new to steel, so excuse my ignorance.

The rods hook in from the apron side into the pull bar hole.
If you look close behind the holes, On the wood apron, There is little rub marks made to the wood, Where the rod rubbed, If the hook tried to back out of the pull bar hole.
