Terry Bethel

Post by Lefty Schrage »

I have a friend who wants to know the title of a song that he played many years ago written by Terry Bethel. Any suggestions?

That was one of my favorites too. Simple but catchy. Funny, I was on a gig the other night when that one hit me out of nowhere.

....so that's Terry's song? I have it on a Larry Sasser cassette. First time I heard it and learned it from there. I used to play it at the regional steel shows back when they were still active.

I love that song! I have songwriting credits: James "Jimmy" Capps / Terry Bethel –BMI

Larry Sasser and The Nashville Now band used to play it on TNN (The Nashville Network) and Larry recorded the song on his "Sassy Country" album.

I have two versions by Terry Bethel in airplay rotation on SteelRadio, one version with The Hushpuppies, the other with The Statesiders.

I liked the song so much, I asked a band I used to manage to learn it and play it, and they did> Ruthie and the Wranglers.
