I tune my eight string lap-steel to A6TH
(F#AC#EF#AC#E) and I'd like to experiment with a pair of string benders.
My E6TH was straightforward, G# to A and B to C# but I'm looking for advice as to how best to use benders on the A6TH (if at all!)
Thanks in advance.

Re: Eight string A6TH with string benders
The easy answer is to lower the C# to B and A to G#; and raise them back up to A6.
I remember watching a Kayton Roberts video where he talked about raising with behind the bar bends his first string a half step; and the second and third strings a half and a full step. Translating that to A6 that would be raising the C# to D, the A to A# or B and F# to G or G#.

Perhaps raising F# to G# and the A to B? Needs only 2 benders, takes you from the one to the five, gives you A6 tuning and E6 tuning.
