Reverse Franklin Pedal

Post by Paul Strojan »

I was visiting with Gene Parsons today and he mentioned that on his pedal 0 he raises string 6 from G# to B and string 7 from F# to G#. Thoughts?

My first thought is that you can get the same with the B pedal moving up two frets; and my second that 7 to G# and 6 to A# is more use.

Ian, respectfully, I don't totally follow your thinking. Sure, you get G# and B up two on strings on 7&6 with the B pedal but I think the way this pedal would interact with other strings/changes is where it would be useful.
The quick unison on strings 5&6, and also the complete E13 voicing when combined with the A pedal that has the b7, 5th and 13th all intact...
You'd also get a whole whack of consecutive diminished tones when combined with the F lever...

Whack being a technical term! :P

I like your thinking. Can't wait until this evening to sit at my guitar and see (hear) what you are saying.
