"George Jones: Still Playin' Possum" Movie

Post by Eddy Dunlap »

Last year we filmed a concert special that fortunately was premiered at every Regal movie theater in the US and is now available/aired on PBS. We're accompanying Jamey Johnson, Travis Tritt, Jelly Roll, Justin Moore, Joe Nichols, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Wynona, Lorrie Morgan, Sam Moore, and many others giving their take on the Jones discography. Also for me personally, it was emotionally fulfilling to pay tribute to one of my heroes, Pete Drake, the year after his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. If you'd like to see the whole concert, you can stream it for free on PBS' website(no membership or sign up required.) There's still an audience for traditional country music out there!

This aired locally a few weeks ago. You did a great job with the songs. I was particularly impressed at how faithful you presented the steel parts to the originals and how much you seemed to be enjoying playing.

Of course we all know you are a fabulous player in your own right.

If you don't want to stream it from Eddy's link, watch for the show to air on PBS or possibly Circle TV in your area. You'll enjoy this tribute to the great George Jones.

Eddy, Thank you so much for posting this concert. I watched it all and enjoyed it greatly. So much great, real country music, talented vocalists and musicians... Your steel playing is top shelf and true to the music. I'm glad to see you are with the Time Jumpers now.
