Written by Leon McAuliffe, it was first recorded by Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys in 1936.

Sylvester Weaver wrote and recorded "Guitar Rag" in the 1920s. Not sure if he copyrighted it though.

Leon recorded the tune on steel and copyrighted it as "Steel Guitar Rag" by Leon McAuliffe.
