I have all in one dell and a line has appeared about three inches from the left side of the monitor. Any ideas?

Connect to an external monitor. If you have HDMI out, any HD tv will work. No line, bad video display. Line, bad video circut.

Sounds like a bad connection on the screen panel. With the monitor on, try squeezing the frame (outside edge) of the monitor with your finger and thumb at the top where the line is, and then do the same at the bottom. (Sometimes, this will tighten the connection and make the line disappear.)
