Gordon Lightfoot's Summer Side of Life

Like many, I will miss Gordon Lightfoot. He had a way with lyrics and melodies. I would like to honor his memory with my steel guitar/ Dobro version of his Summer Side of Life. Of course, I will always love Curly Chalker's versions of those great Lightfoot tunes. Thanks for the music, Gordon Lightfoot.

Thanks, Roger. As you probably can tell, my recording was done in the 1990s and is analogue, done on my Fostex 8 track. If you decide to not go digital, you still can have hours of fun with analogue recording. Welcome to the rabbit hole.

Of course, Chuck.

I'm awaiting the Tascam 8-track now (later today?) I think that the analogue route will have quite enough twists-and-turns to keep me perplexed. A DAW might have entailed a new computer and this has to be a strictly budgeted endeavour.

As for 'rabbit-holes', don't they come with the territory with steel guitar? Analogue recording can't be any more labyrinthian than the furthest reaches of C6th. :)

Maybe I'll make up a tune or two; lay a guitar track, then have at it with the Emmons.

It'll keep me off the streets.
