Pedal Steel Guitar recording session Watching The Grass Grow

Post by André Sommer »

This is a repost of a video which had the wrong rotation and poor sound from the telephone in my studio. My friend Patrick Drabe corrected that video angle and the sound is now a direct signal from Cubase.

This solo is from a recording session I did back in early 2018 for Dutch guitarist Jurgen Burdorf. The song is "Watching The Grass Grow" for his CD Picking Up Steam.

I used my Zumsteel (the original student model I bought in around 1999) through the recording line output of my Roland Cube 80XL. At 21 seconds I muted my 1st string and almost lost an index fingerpick at the same time but pushed it back against my thumb

Due to multiple lossy compression stages, the audio lost a bit of the top end frequency compared to my original studio 24 bit/48K file but I hope you still like it :

Seriously wicked good playing. And a Zum Stage One. How cool is that.
